Birding/Birdwatching Discussion Topic

If you’re documenting birds through eBird, iNat photos, or detailed field notes then you’re a citizen scientist contributing to our knowledge of birds even if you don’t have a degree/job as an ornithologist.

OK, is there a dictionary meaning to it or it’s an opinion oriented thing?

I’m not sure what a dictionary would say. This is just my personal opinion.

Thank you!!

1

2
: a catcher or hunter of birds especially for market

From Mirriam-Webster

Well, I technically regester as one. Lol

I think what matters most is if you consider yourself a birder, not if you meet some requirements which don’t exist anyway.

True, according to the dictionary, I am, lol.

Well, I guess you don’t really have to be a tank commander to call yourself one, eh?:laughing::laughing:

@tanker-aviator-naturalist. Have you seen any cool birds lately?

Honestly, I have not been outside much lately. I must go out soon.

Yeah!

I’ve been very busy. And when I’m outside, I’m doing something.

I completely understand. Hopefully you can get outside to go birding soon.

Me too… :expressionless:

Great Horned Owl. Sitting in the open near a busy gasoline station - seems like odd behavior.

Cool find!

He looks tired.

Sweet, sleepy boy.

That is strange.
