I just heard and saw some black and white warblers, an ovenbird, and a few parulas!
I had two flyover Yellow Warblers in my yard this morning. They were side by side about 100 feet up trucking north. They were on a mission.
Nice job everyone! Warblers are definitely on the move!
All the common warblers have migrated out of my area, so I won’t see any.
Is everyone ready for global big day today?
TODAY??
No! It’s raining here!
IT’S TODAY?! I completely forgot. Plus, like for @oksanaetal ,it’s raining here aswell.
Yeah, it’s raining in Romania as well… kinda unlucky, because tomorrow I’m going to the lake I should have visited last weekend, unless it rains again
Yessir! For the first time in a while, its not actually raining in Southern Ontario
Wow! Funny that it’s raining for all three of you. I got rained on last year, but today, I found a few warbler lifers with a troupe of birders. We were trying to find 100 bird species in three hours. We ended up finding 101!
Will share pics when I have time to download them from my camera to my phone.
:0 Great Job!
Thanks! I personally saw around 70 species, many of which were spotted by the leading ornithologist. Some of the pest pictures I got:
An action shot of a tufted titmouse
A very handsome Baltimore oriole
A noisy red-winged blackbird
A cheerful yellow warbler
A dabbling mallard
A socially awkward black-and-white warbler
And a very nice red-bellied woodpecker
A fun day today. I photographed this Lazuli Bunting - a bird that is not supposed to be in this part of Oklahoma. They migrate through the Panhandle, about 300 miles to the west of me. This same thing happened in 2020. That bird was here May 9, 2020. This bird showed up in my yard May 10, 2025. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get better photos.
I have been enjoying the crazy wild season that is spring migration in the eastern US. Finally all my favorites. Especially the warblers!
This gorgeous Eastern towhee singing.
A Rose-breasted grosbeak feeding on nectar.
Chestnut-sided warbler singing!
A lifer! The Canada warbler migrating through! I was so excited. They have been a wish list species for a long time and a few days before this I thought I saw one but it was dusk and I could not tell for sure.
A Veery who was not shy at all.
First female of the year on the 2nd. As we get the males first.
Warbling vireo!
A Yellow-rumped warbler.
Yellow warbler mid call!
This spotted sandpiper was back in April.
Blurry Indigo bunting.
Black and white warbler.
Louisiana waterthrush in late April.
My first picture of a male wood duck and first time seeing the males.
These are just some of the birds. I try and go out whenever I have time and am annoyed at my responsibilities from keeping me from birding daily!

My first warbler! Hopefully not too late for BOTW

Among others, a good recording of a common nightingale,

Speaking of which, @wvbirder what’s the poll for today?
It’s so beautiful! I’m not from North America and I thought for a moment it was photoshopped and literally painted as a joke :)
I understand your reluctance to believe! An incredible bird.
