Butterflies in the Spanish Pyrenees-catch and release

I’m travelling to the Spanish Pyrenees to enjoy the nature there. I’m thinking of bringing a net and do catch and release of butterflies for photo-ID of species. Is this an acceptable practise in the area? There are several scarce species there, and perhaps issues regarding that?

In that case it may be a better idea to read up on the local laws regarding catch and release of specimens. It is possible some places may require a permit, with certain restrictions, eg. need to be working in a university, museum etc.

The other thing you can do is to learn how to stalk and approach butterflies up close without scaring them, or arrive at the location at a time when the butterflies are more lethargic, etc.
