Dogs trained to search rare desert plants
Interesting, albeit somewhat questionable
Interesting. I want one of those dogs!
I can’t count how many times I wished for such a companion while surveying for one or another rare species across great expanses of the Nevada landscape!
Maybe you can rescue a retired working dog?
Dogs are very valuable for finding multiple species of turtles.

But there are lots more similar stories.
That’s quite amazing! I remember our landlord brought in a pest control company with a scent-trained dog after a neighboring apartment had a bedbug infestation. Of course, not a lot of people are looking to conserve bedbugs, or find them just to add observations to iNat (I hope).
