I have a Canon PowerShot ELPH, and lately its battery has been lasting only a few days. The battery is an NB-4L. I searched for Canon camera battery and found a page at Canon which lists several batteries, but not this model. What appear to be equivalent or compatible batteries are available at other sites, including Amazon, where I regularly buy some foods, including the Vietnamese brown rice noodles I mentioned elsewhere. Have you bought such a battery? Should I buy it from Amazon or elsewhere?
I would call B&H Photo Video and talk to their excellent customer service folks and they will show you what batteries they have that are made for that camera model. You can also read reviews on their site of the different 3rd party batteries and see how well those options performed for others.
I had to get replacement NB 10L. Bought a 2 pack for under $20, on Amazon and have been very, very pleased with them
FWIW some camera companies will release firmware updates that prevent third party batteries from working with the camera, eg Nikon has. I think it’s not very common, but something to be aware of.
This is in New York. I’m in North Carolina.
Sounds like I should do this then.
Yeah … B&H is a mail order business, so I do not understand why their brick and mortar location being a few states away matters. I live most of the year in Washington state, all the way across the country, and order from B&H and Adorama regularly … they are both headquartered in New York.
Is Amazon local to you? If not, then why would you be open to ordering from them, but not open to ordering from B&H?
B&H is excellent, I’ve bought most of my camera gear from them. But for convenience and getting your order fast, it’s hard to beat Amazon.
I didn’t know about B&H, so I tried to find if there’s a B&H store near me.
B&H is in New York City and most of their business is mail order. Note that the owners/staff recognize all Jewish holidays so they are sometimes closed for all business for days at a time when you might not expect it.
