Yes, but not where it was kept in captivity, and “short time” is a pretty nebulous term. I’m not denigrating anyone, I’m saying that for me there is not enough information to determine what the circumstances are here.

In fact they would still count as wild if you ate the crayfish after you had photographed it. The creek is where you encountered the animal in the wild and it is that encounter that you are recording.

I just noticed I missed commenting on this. I agree just like the fish I bring home to eat.

I count mushrooms the same way if I forget to shoot them on site as I often do when I get excited about foraging them for my wife (I don’t eat them just ingest a few medicinals in tea). These would be cases where I think they should be wild.
