I should think you can just take some of the substrate that it was in, and put in all in a ~2L container and wait. It may well be eating some of the vegetative material in the substrate. Here is an example of one I reared with some helpful pointer comments, and here is a project for rearing insects from larvae, though not specifically beetles.
