It looks like the number of Identifications reported on the collection Projects Stats page is incorrect. Specifically, it looks like it’s counting unique observation + identification category combinations, rather than counting the number of identifications.
For example, I made a dummy collection project with these criteria:
It returns 2 observations with a total of 10 identifications (2 improving, 8 supporting) spread across them:
I can tie to the 10 identifications using the API via /v1/identifications:
However, the Stats page reports only 4 identifications (2 improving, 2 supporting):
