I find myself somewhat perplexed about the purpose of Comments versus the Observation Field.
Historically, I’ve engaged in ongoing discussions regarding the taxonomy of certain taxa, always utilizing the Comments field. Additionally, I typically include specific details about my own observations in the Comment field.
However, in a recent observation, a colleague added extra information in the Observation field. I was surprised to discover this was possible on someone else’s observation until I read the iNat guide, which confirmed its functionality.
Despite consulting the iNat guide, I still find it somewhat unclear when to use the Comment field versus the Observation field. What is the general guideline for distinguishing between the two?
