For quite some time I have been seeing observations of Paronychia franciscana given the ID of Cardionema ramosissima. I notice that iNat seems to not suggest P. franciscana as an option (at least not for me when I click the suggestions box) so I am wondering if that might be why so many are getting an incorrect ID.
I went through a while back and corrected a large number of them and now watch for them regularly. They still pop up often (see below link).
I’m curious if there is any way to help the system better learn to ID P. franciscana? The flowers and leaves are noticeably different between the two plants.

The iNat CV does not know this species yet. If you go to the taxon page, it shows as “pending” for CV inclusion. To get it over the threshold, more observations/photos of it are needed. Keeping up with correcting the IDs until it is picked up for CV training will help. Until then, it won’t be included in the CV suggestions.

That depends, not sure exactly on what but I think number of pictures and observations with confirmed community ID (RG and casual) plays into this. I’m waiting for a species with 134 obs to finally pop into the training set but it is still pending.
