Is there a limit to how much you can edit/create taxa within a period of time? I’m compiling a long list of taxa that need to be added/edited while I wait for my curator application to be reviewed.
I don’t think there’s any limit built into the system. I think for beginning curators it is generally best to go slow when starting out to get the hang of how curation on iNat works, both in terms of how the system works technically and how the community (both of curators and “regular” users) discusses taxonomic changes. There have been instances in the past when curators with less experience have ended up causing some serious issues either through implementing changes that didn’t work how they intended/thought (which were difficult to fix) or making large scale changes that were controversial.
If you have a list of taxa you would like curated, I’d suggest just flagging them now. Taxa should generally be flagged prior to making changes anyways to allow for community discussion and easier tracking of changes. This would actually make it quicker to get started if your application is approved. You can easily search for all the flags that you have made to follow up on them if/when you are a curator. And other curators may be able to start making changes now which will also be a benefit to iNat.
Alright, thanks for your advice
