Just advertising that I made an iNat journal post here that may be useful to people making observations of the plant genus Ribes. This shows examples of some things to be thinking about photographing when making such observations both for a better ID and for helping provide better data for people doing research on the genus. I’m just looking into some in California for fun but this could be applicable for Ribes all over the world. Feel free to share with anyone interested in Ribes. Thanks!
Hey, sorry, the iNat Forum isn’t for promotion of projects, so I unlisted the topic.
It’s not really a project but I guess you could argue it is. It was more an advertisement of how people could make more useful observations of the genus Ribes that could possibly one day be used in a project. I, personally, would like to see a lot more useful information like that in the forum.
I meant project in the broad sense, referring to
Since it’s a promotion/advertisement for something somewhere else, it doesn’t fit the forum guidelines. You could revise and resubmit, following the guidelines above regarding starting discussions rather than just linking elsewhere.
Got it. Thanks! I’ll try to keep that in mind in the future. It’s too bad there isn’t more of an integration of iNat journal posts and the forum. A huge amount of the truly great/useful posts are not actually on the forum but buried somewhere on iNat. A forum post requesting people to share those could be a good way to find a bunch though I guess.
