Thanks for making all these tweaks! Verifiable is default in iNat searches and based on some of the comments above, it might be the more expected behavior as default for this tool as well (e.g. to exclude observations showing house plants, farm animals, inaccurate locations etc).
The “verifiable” filter in the advanced options seems mostly redundant with the “wild” filter, since the vast majority of observations that are not verifiable are so because they were marked not wild. For most searches I’ve tested, I’m getting the exact same number and species with both. The one where I know there’s an inaccurate location DQA excludes that observation in addition to anything marked captive/cultivated, so technically the filter works but I wonder how useful it is in practice.
It might make more sense to start with verifiable as the default and have a filter to “include captive/cultivated” the way that it is done for iNat searches.
I think it should be default, but it doesn’t matter much, because you can easily find the “verifiable” button to click.
When I first used your tool, I was taken aback when I filtered for “mammals” in Vermont. Since there are only around 60 mammals occuring here, the algorithm, in trying to get to 100 species, filled in with about 40 species like koalas, camels, tigers, etc. in zoos and wildlife parks. Once you filter for “verifiable”, it eliminates all but a few domestic animals.
It then occured to me that looking at those observations to see if they should be “casual” would be another excellent way to spend even more time using your fun tool, so of course I had to check. It turns out that most of them were plausibly feral, but the ones that were clearly captive (a cat with a collar, a horse in a paddock, etc.) are now marked “not wild”
Maybe I should get back to observing now? Or IDing?

I’m not sure what to think. When the creator of the tool says,
people respond with a wish list. This goes way beyond scope creep!
Don’t worry, almost all new features are just extra ways to search (similar to what iNaturalist already has in the web version), the tool is still very simple and all the extra configuration is hidden in “advanced options”. So a normal user can ignore all of that and just use the 4 main inputs on the tool.
