I am subscribed to Morays +1other. However, the most recent observation on my feed, is the Short Beaked Echidna, which came under new observations of Morays. Now obviously it isn’t a Moray, so this can’t be intentional. What I assume happened is the software thought that the Moray genus Echidna and the Mammals Echidna are the same taxon, or what?

it’s because when that user first uploaded that observation, they mistakenly added an ID of Echidna the moray genus, rather than Echidna the common name, and thus it activated your subscription and appeared on your feed. They then immediately corrected their mistake, hence why the ID now appears as such on your feed
