Feces: annotate as alive?

So: I was annotating Estonian vertebrates as alive / dead. I just saw one observation is of bear feces. Is this alive, because the animal obviously was alive when they produced them, or cannot be determined, because the animal might have died since they produced them?

I think it’s ‘cannot be determined.’

Yeah, I’d say Cannot be Determined as you don’t have evidence the animal is alive at the time you encounter the feces.
