Stage of ripeness is very typical for most Solanums, Black Nightshades & Tomatoes for example should be eaten when fully ripe.
This reminds me of Lupine Beans. People have found creative ways to make poisonous plants into edible foods.
Then why have foraging guides at all? Plus there’s also allergic reactions to perfectly edible foods, sometimes they are unexpected.

Also @franasa I would also make a website form of this, not everyone uses an app. I like INaturalist for this reason, app isn’t required.
