How can I find the regions list of a country which can be selected for search? I cant find for example Tenerife (only Canary Islands) nor Sinai or South Sinai (only Egypt). I hope somebody knows the answer. Thank you.
Have you tried looking on the places search? There’s probably a way through the API to find all descendent places. But for standard places from GADM, you can look at the divisions on their website: https://gadm.org/maps/EGY_1.html
I’m not sure what Sinai you are looking for, but we do have Shamal Sina and Janub Sina as standard places. Also someone added a place for the whole peninsula.
For the Canaries, our standard places might not get all the way down to individual islands (I see Santa Cruz de Tenerife). But again someone has added one.

If you have an obs in the place you are interested in - random example - my next notification - in Eswatini. Click Details below the map. Left list - Standard places - from Google - can be weird or unhelpful. Right list - Community Curated - created by iNatters because we want or need them. You may find a place to serve your purpose on either of those lists for YOUR obs.

you can download a list of all iNaturalist places from https://www.inaturalist.org/places/inaturalist-places.csv.zip. you can use the ancestry column to figure out relationships between places, and you can use the existence of an admin_level value to differentiate between “standard” places and community-created places in the system.
