I see it occasionally: a thread that reached 60 days without any further replies, and automatically closed; but then, perhaps months later, it gets reopened. How and why does this happen?
Moderators will re-open a thread if there’s a request – usually via DM.
Oh is that the secret. Personally I don’t see the point to having them close at all.
I think mainly discussions can derail from the initial topic and no longer be relevant to the subject of the initial thread. it keeps things clean to encourage users to make new posts so that archival posts can still be useful in the future.
This topic was automatically closed 60 days after the last reply. New replies are no longer allowed.
