How do I get sharper photos of bumblebees?

This sounds like an “uncooperative subject” problem rather than an equipment problem. ;)

Some species are definitely more restless/skittish than others. It can help to spend some time watching them to get a sense of their habits. Often their movements will follow a certain pattern and it is easiest to catch them at a particular point in this cycle. E.g., some male bees will patrol a territory and are difficult to photograph while they are zooming around, but they also take periodic breaks for nectar or to sun themselves.

I find that this time of year (here in Germany we have had some warm days but there is not yet much blooming) the bees are particularly frustrating to photograph, but in a few weeks, once the willows and fruit trees have started blooming, they slow down a bit and don’t seem quite so desperate.

There is some more discussion that might be useful in this thread: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/tips-on-taking-pictures-of-bees/60536/
