Logging out of the app and logging back in should clear the app’s cache and reduce its size significantly. The app is supposed to be cleaning up unneeded stuff in the background, but that doesn’t happen if you’re constantly quitting the app . Are you quitting the app a lot?

Once a photo is uploaded to iNaturalist, it’s on their servers. You don’t need to keep a copy on your phone.
