This topic probably belongs in the Bug Reports category, but since it relates to an individual account, I’m not sure if that would be considered “calling out” that person. I can share the details, if there’s a staffer or curator I can DM. I was checking one of the taxa I identify and I noticed several rather old observations appearing today as Needs ID, even though they all had the two IDs they needed for RG status. The DQA for “Has ID supported by two or more” was nevertheless set to No. One of the identifiers was the same for all of these. When I checked further, it appears that all of that person’s identifications (thousands!) no longer count. What’s happening here? From their profile, this person is still active. I hope they haven’t deleted their account and we’re in the middle of seeing that reflected in the data.

Thanks. I see the problem and I think it’s something we can fix on Monday, if not sooner. I’d let it be for now, no need to go through and reindex the observations.

How do I do that? If this is what you mean: I tried adding one of my own IDs to one of those, and then it turned to RG, with the Community Taxon info properly saying there were three agreeing IDs. Then I deleted my own ID and it stayed RG with the two older IDs. But for the other observations that I didn’t add to, there is no community ID.

I forced a reindex by voting in the Data Quality Assessment and it’s in the project now.

Those observations have 2 IDs but as reflected in the DQA (which is automatic and we can’t vote on) the system doesn’t think they have “ID supported by two or more”. I tried adding different DQA votes and that had no effect. As I said in my previous post, adding another ID seems to fix the problem, but having to do that for thousands of observations is hardly a “fix” for this glitch, whatever it is.
