Got 70k verifiable observations yesterday!
I think I will stop observing now Today I added the missing 9 and have achieved a full thousand.
Should hit 90K IDs this evening.
Recently hit 1100, and only 4 species away from 500 total (not all verified).
I’m also only about 140 away from 1,000 ID’s.
Last year I set myself the goal of getting to 1000 obvs, this year I want to end 2023 with a 1:1 obvs to IDs ratio.
Just passed 450 observations, 300 species/taxa, and 4,600 IDs for others. Not all even hundreds or thousands, I know, but still nice round numbers. Somehow I’m not even keeping a 1:10 ratio of observations to identifications. So much easier to bump a few birds or plants to RG than to go find new ones!
I broke 8k observations today! 5001 so far are researchgrade with 532 research grade species :D
I passed up 100,000 IDs yesterday, according to my profile page
Wow! I’m very impressed that you’ve done that many identifications for others. Having recently reached 10K, I know the amount of work and dedication this requires. I’m sure the 100K Club is a pretty small group. Thanks, for all your hard work. I know it has helped me.
Out of 301,799 identifiers, only 307 have 100k identifications or more
So about 0.1%? That’s a small group indeed!
Brava Amy! I wonder how long it will take me to catch up to you? Thanks for helping with my commonorgarden horticultural horrors.
I see you excluded Indiana. Smart move considering it’s one of the least interesting states (from experience because I live there).
A year ago 439 species for the Cape Peninsula. Now I have 700.
Oh no no, the empty states are the ones that I did a 100% review on. IN is one of those https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=20&taxon_id=52775&view=identifiers
Interesting or not, I got IN’s back. If you do any Bombus observations from the northern part of the state, that’s right about the edge of B perplexus, so more observations of that would be good.
Gotten any lifers there?
I recently hit 800 species and 6,000 observations!
I made it to 2000 species recently. That was slow for me towards the end and really only possible by branching away from flowering plants to also observing some lichens/mosses/ferns/liverworts along the way! Also hit 8000 observations sometime on the weekend now.
And probably the hardest achievement, I managed to get 100 observations in a single day yesterday. I remember wondering if I could ever observe that many plants in a day, my previous record was 80, but the trick was to start early in the morning and stay out all day! Also had to walk a lot to to find more plant species, my legs hurt today
Broke 1,000 IDs today. Mostly from Unknowns and nearly all from my local area.
Holy sh*t. My newest trip has brought me to a perfect 1,000 observations. Small potatoes for some but for me this is a big step!
I recently hit 1,700 observations and 700 species! I’m hoping to reach 2,000 observations by the end of the year.
