Hit 5000 species yesterday!!!

I hit 15k identifications for others yesterday! Around 2/3 of those are going through Unknowns uploaded before 2025 and most of the other 1/3 are diatoms specifically. I’m hoping to get the pre-2025 Unknowns under 200k next.

What’s the link to ID pre-2025 unknowns?

Here’s a link https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/identify?identified=false&created_d2=2024-12-31&createdDateType=range

ah you beat me to it xD I sort it by “random” because it’s more fun (I think) and I also always add the “photos=true” whenever I’m IDing. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/identify?order_by=random&identified=false&photos=true&created_d2=2024-12-31&createdDateType=range

I just surpassed 50,000 IDs for others. That means I’ve done more than 5,000 so far this year!

Hey, somehow I slid right by the milestone of 60,000 observations without really noticing. Just not enough hours in the day, I guess.

After a bit over 2 years using INaturalist, I’ve finally hit 1k!

Yesterday I cleared the last obs for CNC 25 for Cape Town. I have looked at all the Unknowns. Then chewed down Needs ID from Family to sp. I don’t look at RG - I leave that to taxon specialists.

I overshot my intentional goal, but in doing so the numbers rolled 20’s!

It’s not nearly what other folks on here have, but I hit 300 observations today! I’m hoping to hit 1000 by the end of the summer :)

Welcome to the forum!
Sometimes I feel like a slacker when I those high number milestones, but life is so much sweeter as the competition within me leaves and I open the door wondering who will show themselves to me this day!
Your 300 is an awesome beginning, we all started with one!

Yay!
I myself was thrilled when I made my very first observation, my first 100, my first 500, etc. (what it it about multiples of 100 that makes them so satisfying?) And delighted when I got my first RG observation; hit my first 100 species; made my first forum post … the rewards of iNat are manifold.

I was almost able to line up my 1,000th observation with my 666th species, but one chiton observation with only the genus identified messed that up.

Neatly rolled over to 6K IDs for my local CNC 25.

Your milestone made me wonder what my most observations and species in one day was. I figured it had to be one of the nights we set up sheets and lights for mothing. It turns out I had a tie for most observations on May 20, 2023 and August 22, 2024. 102 observations on both days. I had one more taxa and one more life list first on the August date (89 & 128) than the May date (88 & 127). Of course those numbers could change with more IDs.
