I’m looking to implement iNaturalist API into a webapp as a way to detect flowers by species and I don’t know quite where to start, Is there a tutorial or past forum post that gives insight on how to get the species suggestion from a photograph?
as far as i know, iNaturalist’s computer vision API is undocumented and is not really intended for use by the general public outside of the official iNat platforms.
what exactly are you trying to build? you might be able to train your own computer vision model using the iNaturalist AWS open data set.

The API that gives species suggestions based on visual similarity is not publicly available. We have allowed a small number of select individuals/organizations fee-based access for research or use in other citizen science apps. If your use meets these criteria, please send me an email (carrie at inaturalist.org) with more details.
