iNaturalist as a hook for building support for conservation

Just wanted to share this:
While this video is simple it has a good message. I see iNaturalist as a great way to build these relationships and inspire folks to care more about conservation. Those little notes you leave in the comments for new users (“Cool find!”) and taking the time to answer questions really does make a difference.


That is a very interesting video. I don’t have a large social network (in meat space), so I’m wondering how this might be applied to the political infrastructure that makes decisions like why they should not build a restaurant on a salt marsh, prairie etc. How do we meet them where they live?

I agree and I also hope that Inat will have a centralized page for resources to introduce Inat to newcomers.
