Came across this link to a story about attempts to study an introduced skink in Australia. In it, the researchers ask for help from the community specifically naming iNaturalist.

I know that here in Michigan USA our Department of Natural Resources uses iNaturalist observations for tracking Turkey observations, at least. They had said to report sightings to them, and later changed to monitoring iNat. I’m sure that’s going to be, or is the new trend.
