Hi, I remember that I’ve seen this feature in the Google Group but I don’t think it’s been posted here. I’d like to have an option to apply basic image editing before or after uploading a picture. Most basic edits would be cropping or rotating a picture.

I just discovered we can at least rotate images in the website application. Under the Photo, Click View Original Click Rotate Right (or Left) [image] [image] So, there is that.

[Screenshot_20210829-195050] I can do all that on my Android version of the app - attached is a screenshot. Crop, Bright, Contrast etc. I use it frequently. [Screenshot_20210829-195050~2] [Screenshot_20210829-195708~2] [Screenshot_20210829-195716~2]

Same, but the feature request is for multiple platforms, and while I’ve had this functionality in Android (as Kueda mentioned in the Jan 2020 post), it’s still not in iOS, and the website only has the rotation, I think.

Is there any news on adding a cropping function to the ios app? That would be really good to have.

I guess both apps are frozen… But I have good news. If you want to have a cropping fucntion in the app you can buy an Android phone. Works fine with one exception …

Instead i’m forced to use the default camera app which means my entire camera roll is 90% insect photos. It really bugs me (pun not intended) when i…

This has become my number 1 issue now that I’ve moved to iNat Next on Android. It does no allow cropping like the previous app did, therefore I am uploading very large photos on iNat, which: takes up space for nothing, and makes it more difficult for identifiers to focus on the organism Also, I am…

I would love to see this feature on the website. It would be very helpful.

No, we wom’t be adding it to the current app, as we’re only working on bug fixes for it at the moment. See https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/inaturalist-mobile-app-development-news/27157
