I recently learned from Ed Yong’s book “An Immense World” (which I HIGHLY recommend) that many insects communicate by making vibrations which are inaudible to us. These vibrations can be technologically transposed into sounds that we can hear, and I’m interested in composing a piece of music using these sounds.
I found this wonderful website ( http://treehoppers.insectmuseum.org/public/site/treehoppers/home/sounds ) that has quite the collection of treehopper calls. Does anyone have suggestions for where I might find more recordings or for how to go about searching for them?
