Instances where America-centrism is busted on iNat?

Perhaps the answer to the question is reflected in the many countries who have their own iNat affiliated to big brother in California. Wondering how my iNat engagement will change when there is an iNat.za.

In some cases, those are highly landscaped suburban streets where it is difficult to find anything not captive/cultivated.

That does seem to be what the thread is about: caught out after assuming someone is American, who in fact is not.

And I will admit to some bias (prejudice?) of my own, in that I experience mild surprise when an observation in a developing country is posted by someone local to that country, rather than a traveler. I mean, why shouldn’t observation in, say, Brazzaville be posted by a Congolese? Stereotypes about “rich” countries and “poor” countries, and the people therein can color our assumptions in ways we are not entirely conscious of.
