Strange, I updated it to link straight to the observation rather than opening Identify - should work now
Link in your original post works, but it looks like discourse doesn’t update quotes. I’ll change the link in kiwifergus’s post.

I had always wondered if it did update them, and was going to test it. Forgot, but we get the answer all the same!

The new dead/alive annotation could help with this in some cases.
Of course it won’t apply to situations where there is an observation for a scavenger or a predator who is consuming a kill (e.g. the example above for an observation of flies on a carcass…the correct annotation for the flies would be alive, but using that filer wouldn’t necessarily stop people from observing a dead animal’s blood, viscera, etc).
Still, I think it is a good tool for the people who want to filter on it.
Now I just have to edit all my existing observations and IDs, which has me wishing I could upvote that bulk annotation suggestion multiple times.
