I thought I had started and saved a draft post for my journal this spring but now I can’t find any drafts. Just wondering do they disappear after a while if not being edited/published? It’s possible it’s just faulty memory on my part but curious nonetheless if journal drafts go away eventually if you’re not interacting with them for a while.

I suspect not. I have journal drafts that are 5+ years old.
