Description of need:
Australia is the only continent without avian bird flu (matter of if not when). We’d like to be able to provide sightings of dead birds/ seals (focus on migrating birds) to authorities as a general surveillance tool (see link above). Broader applicability to biosecurity beyond bird flu. Currently the dead/alive values don’t come to us.
Feature request details:
We’d be keen on seeing if we can get the dead/alive data from iNaturalist. Foremost to help as a general surveillance tool for bird flu. The DWC field https://dwc.tdwg.org/terms/#dwc:vitality can be used for those values to come across. We can figure out how to send alerts from this point.
