Mediterranean Identification Guides

Hello,

I’ve seen several posts that list resources to learn to identify nature in general. but most are focused towards north america or western europe.

I am from North Africa (Tunisia) but finding resources for this region is near impossible so anything on the Mediterranean region is sufficient.

I am specifically interested in fungi, insects and plants in this region.

I will be going on a trip to north-west tunisia next weekend and I want to be well prepared!

I like to look here for world wide field guides:

https://www.nhbs.com/2/field-guides-and-natural-history?q=&hPP=60&idx=titles_date_desc&p=0&fR[hide][0]=false&fR[hide][1]=false&fR[live][0]=true&fR[live][1]=true&fR[shops.id][0]=2&fR[shops.id][1]=2&fR[subsidiaries][0]=1

You can choose the region or topic (birds, plants, …) you search for by filters and have some preview pages to see if the book meets your interest.

For plants in North Africa iNat has active botanists.
@abounabat and many taxon specialists

and many projects for Tunisia https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/search?utf8=✓&q=tunisia

I think there is a post somewhere on this forum about a db nadaba with field guides where you can select an area…
