Mixture of live and specimen images - annotation question

Hi all,

I am struggling slightly with how to annotate my insect and spider observations, many of which have a live photo in the field and then dead specimen photos added later to the same observation. I am seeing some forum topics that do address this for the most part, e.g.:

https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/dead-alive-annotation-its-purpose/9806

But I am still not sure I have clear guidance. I guess I should annotate these as “alive” even though there are also dead specimen pics included? Or just leave it un-annotated?

Thanks!
Ken

I believe the annotation should refer to the status of the organism at the time and place indicated for the observation. I would also clarify in the description the status of the other photos.

Also as you add time of an observation, it is the second reason to annotate it as alive, you observed the animal when it was so.
