Just for context…(we collected from several trees!) To make 12 pounds of maple sugar, you’ll need approximately 528 gallons of maple sap. This is because it typically takes 40-43 gallons of sap to produce 1 gallon of syrup, and 1 gallon of syrup can yield about 1 pound of sugar
