Nature-inspired Comics?

Yes! Saw this one this morning too. And let’s add the ‘chaser’ he (Zach Weinersmith) usually adds to his stuff (the Red Button panel):

I love SMBC. The Weinersmiths (he works with his wife) also put out terrific books. Not your typical comic subjects at all, and also super informative and well-researched. A real treasure these guys, for all of us (including the non-grad student crowd!).

If we’re adding the red button panel, let’s also add the hovertext – "We are assuming for the sake of argument that all bits of human are equivalent, which is basically correct." :joy:

I’m opposed to these unrealistic beauty standards about red and tumescent anogenital regions, I agree

Calvin and Hobbes is full of some great ones. I also really enjoy Chats from the Void (https://www.instagram.com/chatsvoid/), these are just a few of my favorites.

I can’t imagine the audience for taxonomy jokes is very large, but SMBC is going for it

These are fantastic, thanks for sharing!

(I laughed so hard at your captcha one: “Mark all squares with Lasioglossum”…well, no danger of a bot being able to figure that out any time soon, if the performance of iNat’s computer vision is any indication)

Pretty sure one was Halictus just to throw off some…
