This is the bestest thread. I don’t think anyone has shared this False Knees yet (somewhat appropriate to the weather where I am, where it is snowing and gray and a northern cardinal is singing) [sorry, I do not know of a link to an original, only Facebook]

Geese have been playing Untitled Goose Game before it was cool.

Oh, so Nessie actually descended from T-rex rather than plesiosaurs!

I like xkcd and physics, and I noticed the physics here is actually slightly wrong

Cherenkov light is produced when something exceeds the speed of light in a given medium, which is lower than the speed of light in a vacuum, the vacuum speed of light being an absolute maximum speed anything can go.

C represents the vacuum speed of light, not whatever the speed of light is in a given medium

The latest Tails from the Field comic – two people walking through nature, with one admiring the natural beauty and the other noticing that they’re mostly non-native plants – …let’s just say I’ve seen myself go from the first to the second role, heh.

Edit: it’s comic 52, from 2020/09/13

Ahh, the Medieval Monk Scribes method of data management. " ‘Master copy’? What’s that?"
