I would much prefer racooning than mothing. I’m just meh about moths.

Have tried that several times. Ended up with lots of midges - and mosquitoes - but no moths.

Yeah, I don’t have a backyard either but the I think the basic thrust of what it’s saying is broadly applicable. That being said, I do find and photograph moths and other arthropods attracted to lights around my building.

The expression “in your own backyard” isn’t necessarily meant to be taken literally. It often means the area that you can visit without thinking of yourself as “traveling.”

I just realized what this reminded me of. Literally the funniest scene in Archer’s history.

I like this one, and I will add to your corrections that those are Cumulus congestus, not Cumulonimbus, Cumulonimbus is what it is called once the cloud has reached storm size, it is probably already thundering if the cloud is a Cumulonimbus

It is correct though that Cumulus congestus indicates the potential for thunderstroms. it could be later today, or the Cumulus congestus could turn into a dangerous Cumulonimbus with winds taking trees down only minutes after it was a Cumulus congestus

We have a specific name for those in our house: Cumulomurderous.

Comes of me having lived through a few too many tornado events. :tornado:

What is that card in the background with the jumping spiders on it?

Must be in Australia.

Or just my older daughter, anywhere!

@lothlin @DianaStuder The meme I had in mind was this template: https://www.tiktok.com/@chiefgreenscreens/video/7292974321574726954?lang=en
with the “the rest of taxonomy” and “fungi taxonomy” replacing the “your text here” in the first and second half of the video respectively. I don’t have a tiktok account to actually make it though.

Note: Gimbap (김밥) is a common snack for Koreans to bring on picnics and hikes, with most street food restaurants putting it in aluminum foil for people on the go. The 부스럭부스럭 ‘call’ is, if I’m not horribly mistaken, the Korean onomatopoeia for a foil wrapper crinkling / being opened. If you’re out on a trail and hear that sound there’s a good chance someone is eating gimbap nearby.
