Those Marine Protected Area maps would be more readable with one honest “Annihilation Area” label everywhere else..
A reference to the movie ‘They live’.
I think this is referring to the fact that the human mouth is pretty warm, so by putting them in there they would get warmed up. . .actually never mind.
It’s time to learn some facts. Very important facts. A bird (aves) is a species of feathered, winged, bipedal creature descended from the manoraptorian dinosaurs. A birb (aves, subfamily birbiformes) is a kind of bird that looks silly/cute to such extremes that they instantly melt both hearts and warp the fabric of spacetime. A borb (subcategory of birb) is a birb who has converged into an orb, for ultimate surface area reduction. Most borbs are also floofs . See photos below:
A normal bird.
A birb birbing.
A borb exhibiting a great amount of floof.

Remember, this is a extremly important topic that any birbwatcher should know. Please do not confuse these terms.
*PS should i add this on the birbwatching discussion topic?
Man that was a weird movie.
Here is the scene from the movie. Nearly 40 years ago!

They Live (1988) stars (deceased) pro wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper (he was 34 years old when this film came out). The film follows a guy who discovers through special sunglasses
(shown in the clip above)
that the ruling class are aliens concealing their appearance and manipulating people to consume, breed, and conform via subliminal messages in mass media.
I think the social commentary in the clip will resonate with a lot of iNatters.
Plus, using iNat, and developing ecological literacy, is like putting on these magic sunglasses when you look at nature.
I have doubts about dinosaurs.
“Truth is stranger than fiction.”
Y’know, using the American Werewolf (Lycanthropus canadensis) in this one was a stroke of genius. Says the four-year-old me whose older relatives thought that it would be a marvelous idea to take me to the beach with an enormous bag of popcorn.
haha, i was confused too, the context is this meme https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/if-youre-cold-theyre-cold on which this one is going beyond
…this will be in my dreams tonight. It looks strangely cute (a bit angwy)and unsettling. Pretty adorable though.
AAAAAAAAA NO!!! This is so weird!
Reminds me of the story where a younger Charles Darwin was beetle hunting and briefly put one in his mouth to quickly make room in his hands for another (yeah, I don’t quite get the thought process there ), only to find out (the hard way) how this beetle reacts when provoked…
“One day, on tearing off some old bark, I saw two rare beetles, and seized one in each hand; then I saw a third and new kind, which I could not bear to lose, so that I popped the one which I held in my right hand into my mouth. Alas! it ejected some intensely acrid fluid, which burnt my tongue so that I was forced to spit the beetle out, which was lost, as was the third one”
(From The life and letters of Charles Darwin.)
Reminds me of when I was a kid and picked up a big ground beetle, and held it up to my face (right in front my eye) to get a better look. I learned a hard lesson that day, and had to have my eye washed out with a water bottle
