New Gall collection opportunity

Hi all!

I missed the chance to share this during Gall Week this April, but Gallformers has started a new collaboration with the Raskin lab at Rutgers. They’re hoping to get people around the country to send them specimens of oak galls to test their molecular composition and looking for interesting chemistry. Further information here.

Thanks,
Adam

Does this have to be active galls (the arthropod is still inside) or will vacated galls work? I can’t always tell if a gall is active or not.

They should at least be fresh tissue, not dried/shriveled/brown etc.
