When uploading an observation, you can’t pick an observation date in the future (obviously). But, it seems like there’s a loophole around this; depending on the time zone you’re using, you can actually set an observation time that means you made the observation after you uploaded it.
See https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/60595477 which was uploaded ~1.5 hours ago, but the observation time is in the future.
EDIT: note that the observation time for this specific case is correct now after the user fixed it, but the bug still stands of course in general
