Although this is not the best quality, I wanted to save this observation as I recently moved to Florida and experienced what I captured for the first time. It was an amazing experience for me.
I uploaded the observation via pc. The original capture is an iPhone video (iPhone 12 Pro Max). I can view this as a .gif when looking on my pc however when viewing via the app on my phone I only see a still image. Sadly, as photo that is not a .gif/animated, it is difficult to see what is going on.
I have a good connection and I have refreshed, restarted the app, etc. Is this is PC-only feature?
I just checked one of my own gif observations on the iPhone app, and can confirm the gif does not work, it just displays as an image. However I also checked on the new app (that I’m testing atm) and the gif does work there, so presumably it will work for you in future when the new app is officially released
when i read the thread that jwidness linked, i come to the conclusion that animated gifs may not be supported in the future and that they probably should not be uploaded. if you want to load a video, you can always load it to another site that can host a video and then link to that.
