Pogonomyrmex Label Data - Help!

I recently collected some Pogos from an ant farm. A friend let me have one of her old ones, and it still had some live ones in it. I don’t know how long it will be till I can go to Cali and get some P. occidentalis for myself, so I collected a couple. What’s the best way to figure out where and when they were collected? If that’s not possible I’ll do something like this:

USA: CA, County N/A
From Purchased Colony

I’ll ask her where she got her ant farm from though, and contact the company and see whether they have a specific place they get them from.

This is a captive record from an unknown source so it will end up as Casual, if that matters. If the location it came from is unknown you could just use your location and mark the record as Captive (not wild).

For labeling pinned specimens? “From Purchased Colony” would be appropriate. It may be that these ants have been captive bred through several generations, like domesticated bees.

Alright, thanks!
