I was thinking could there be an inat for rocks, crystals and fossils (and stuff like that). (I realise how long and impractical the creation of this could be, but I am just imagining)
Any opinions?
You can post fossils on iNat, but they must be marked as no recent evidence of organism, and there may be some issues with the taxonomy (https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/curator+guide#extinct). Here are some other recommendations for geological finds:

I think https://www.myfossil.org/ offers way of recording finds and getting help with identification, but I’ve not used it myself, just heard it mentioned by a geology colleague.
