Scheduled Downtime September 10-11 (for 2 hours)

iNaturalist will be offline for 2 hours beginning at 9pm Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7) on Wednesday, September 10 (that’s UTC 04:00 on September 11). Click to see in your local time.

During this time, you will not be able to post observations from the mobile apps or interact with the website or API in any way. The iNatForum will still be active.

The timing will likely be most inconvenient for those in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. We apologize in advance for anyone who is inconvenienced. Please make other plans during that time.

Similar to past scheduled downtimes, this maintenance is required to better manage iNaturalist’s growing dataset but these behind-the-scenes improvements to the database will not be visible.

Starts at exactly midnight in my timezone so I don’t think I’ll have any issues :+1:

I will certainly be awake, but I will probably be studying at that time. If let’s say for some reason I’m not studying, then… no one can stop me from going out and observing! A fitting excuse to use iNat more when it comes back up.

this is now the third time that iNat downtime has directly overlapped with an iNat-related workshop/bioblitz I’m running that was planned months in advance :melting_face:

Just don’t schedule them for Thursday afternoons - these events always seem to be on the same weekday and time. :)
