Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: I take the photo of the plant I want to ID out in backcountry using seek. Seek gets the ID to species. My phone is on airplane mode to save battery.

Step 2: I get home and I want to load the plant photo to inaturalist just to check that Species is correct. And there is no location data, so I have to manually do that step, just guessing generally where I was when photo taken.

Step 3: So does seek only record the GPS location data if it is not on airplane mode? or is there some setting I need to adjust? Thanks so much for any help!

As far as I know, Seek is designed for children to use, therefore it does not record gps for safety reasons.

Seek on iOS doesn’t record GPS data with the photos it takes, which is a bug. In Android, it records GPS data.

I also edited the title of the topic to make it a statement and not a question.

Screenshot from app in IPhone apps…

In Android, it records GPS data.

When I used Seek (half a year ago) it didn’t record location on an Android phone either.
