Should New Disruptive Technologies be Used for Classification in Ancient Linnaean Rankings

Interestingly there are still young-earth creationists with a sub-sub-field (“baraminology”) dedicated to researching the divisions between “kinds”, which as far as I could tell settles on a strict interpretation of the Biological Species Concept that results in groupings closer to the standard taxonomic level of family. E.g. if Golden Eagle and Northern Goshawk can both hybridize with Harris’s Hawk then they must all have speciated from the same ancestral hawk pair on Noah’s Ark. I thought it was funny when this came up because coincidentally they describe it as like an evolutionary orchard:

Anyway, reminds me of school biology classes that only referenced the Biological Species Concept to define species, and myself as a young birder pointing out that that would mean all ducks and all gulls should be considered the same species… I’m still not sure about all the Herring Gull splits.
