Should we create a free, self-guided iNat observer course? (thought experiment)

I could say that few important things to take into account for many observers are:

  • you have the possibility to add many photos to an observation so, unless you are in a hurry, why not stopping for a while and take enough time to depict properly an organism, the surrounding environment included?
  • ask yourself if what you are going to upload is remotely identifiable (I mean blurry photos)
  • unless you cannot for some reasons, plants are usually better photographed side-on, not from above or obliquely.

Of course, this would imply that such users are using iNat not just for the day, maybe because someone wants they to use it, but they intend to become more or less prolific observers.

What if, instead of a video, iNat set up as a user ā€œiNat Guideā€ (or something), with the iNat logo as profile photo, and experts willing to participate were given the ability to post as that user? They could upload their own observation photos demonstrating what views are needed, use the notes field for any further guidance/instruction. Anyone could then explore and view user ā€œiNat Guideā€, filter for what they want to learn about…?
