Silly iNaturalist Meme

I suppose I am a toned-down Nerd and (unfortunately) not a Hometown Hero, and (thankfully) not a Suburban Parent - The suburbs are ecological voids!

I think I’ve got the entire top row covered. I’m the nerdy professor (not retired yet though) trying to turn my students into future nerds. LOL

I have no idea, I just looked up ā€œthings photographers talk about on Redditā€ for the sake of the meme.

This is a great goal to have

If I understand correctly (and I may not!) most good cameras have had mirror that bends the light up to the viewfinder. As the picture is taken, that camera flips out of the way and the light goes to the film. This was an improvement over older cameras where looking through the viewfinder gave a slightly different view than the film would have. Now with electric cameras it is possible to just capture the picture the viewfinder gets, so it’s mirrorless. Many digital cameras, like mine, still have mirrors.

You have it right, except the mirror flips out of the way… clunk! Sound effects that do not shut off! The older cameras with parallax error, the ā€œmatch to focusā€ of twin lens cameras…
It make me feel old, knowing so many have to Google things like that! Makes me wish they would have to use manual settings and film… and understanding having to wait to develop film and prints…( waxing nostalgia over the aroma of chemicals…)

Thanks for the edit, @Thunderhead – I fixed it. I was very slow to change from film camera to digital, but I don’t feel nostalgic for film – especially the delay and expense.

Thank you! It’s great!

Me, too. My theme song was ā€œSome Day My Prints Will Comeā€ā€¦in school we were using several types of cameras and sizes of film. It took knowledge and skill to make beautiful photos that are now achieved with point and shoot skill.
I was aiming for ā€œlab workā€, and the world shifted.

I DO enjoy the digital cameras. I am working my way out of disability to be able to step up from iPhone-ography.
