Description of need:
The current monthly list of journal entries is not convenient for searching past posts unless a keyword is found using the Search function. Similarly, scrolling through the full entries displayed on the lefthand panel is very inefficient for those of us with large numbers of posts.

Feature request details:
I would like to see the lefthand panel replaced with a simple index of journal posts by date and title, each being a hot link to the original post. The list should be sortable by date or title and searchable for keywords.

This index view might be constructed such that it could toggle back and forth between the index and the full text view as presently displayed. Extracted from my own journal list, here’s a simple mock-up of what the lefthand panel might look like:

this would be great

currently I’ve been maintaining the same thing, as its own journal post, to manually organise my own posts I’ve written

I asked something similar recently and the request got closed down.

it’s not sortable (although i could make it so), and searching would happen on the client side using the browser’s search function (although i suppose i could also make the page itself hide posts that don’t match a particular search term), but this may be useful: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/can-i-search-for-a-journal-post-of-mine/33065/13.
